5 Seconds a Day. Your Natural Color, Back.
Hair dye fixes gray. It also gives you a bad smell, a hairline that looks painted, and roots that remain gray. Particle Anti-Gray Serum targets the root cause — restoring natural pigment gradually, hair and beard, no dye, no mess. Five seconds a day. Thirty-day guarantee. 20% off with code BH20.

The sunshine takes a breather today: expect a mix of sun and cloud with a high of 25°C and a humidex near 27 — still a very high UV index of 8, so sunscreen and a hat are smart if you're heading to the picnic or out on the trails. Winds stay light through the day, and skies clear to a comfortable overnight low near 11°C. Looking ahead: sunshine builds back through the rest of the week, with highs climbing toward the high 20s by the weekend. Full forecast at Environment Canada.

Science North's waterfront centre hits a delay

Plans for a new Science North science centre on Thunder Bay's waterfront have been pushed back. The northern-Ontario science organization had hoped to break ground in spring 2027 on the site next to the (also-paused) new art gallery, but now says the project “will take longer to advance than originally anticipated,” pointing to economic headwinds and trade uncertainty. Ottawa pledged $20 million toward the centre in 2025, and Science North says it stays committed to bringing hands-on science to the northwest — just on a longer timeline.
A jeans-store staple closes after 25 years

After nearly 25 years at the Memorial and Central retail complex, Thunder Bay's Warehouse One will close for good on July 19. The Winnipeg-based denim chain filed for creditor protection in May and is winding down all 128 of its Warehouse One and Bootlegger stores across Canada. Ten local employees are now looking for new work, and clearance sales are on until the doors close — the store would have marked its 25th anniversary in September.
The CLE summer fair returns in August

Mark the calendar: the Canadian Lakehead Exhibition brings its summer fair back to the CLE grounds August 5–9, noon to midnight each day. Expect the classic mix of midway rides, games, food and live entertainment — this year's main stage lineup includes Glass Tiger, Alli Walker and Eagles tribute act Hotel California. It's the 135-year-old fair's big summer moment, and advance tickets are on sale now.
Sight-saving eye surgery now closer to home

Northwestern Ontarians facing a retinal detachment can now be treated right here at home. The Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre has begun performing repairs for the sight-threatening emergency — care that's most effective within a few days — sparing patients an urgent trip to southern Ontario. It's the latest step in keeping specialized eye care in the region and getting people seen faster, closer to their communities.

Trivia answer: The bat. Bats are the only mammals capable of true, sustained flight — there are more than 1,400 species worldwide. Other so-called "flying" mammals, like flying squirrels, only glide.
